The forces acting upon a space probe when it is landing on the moon?

Two forces act on a space probe when it is landing on the moon, before it touches the ground. What are the upward and downward force and how are these 2 forces used to move the space probe downwards?|||The upward force comes from small retro rockets aboard the spacecraft that thrust towards the surface. The downward force is gravity. By carefully decreasing the rockets' thrust gravity lowers the spacecraft gently (..hopefully..) onto the surface.|||THE FORCE`S ARE GAVITAIONAL DOWNWARD AND UPWARD FORCE.
